Incheon International Airport Corporation (Acting President Lee Hee-jeong) announced on the 9th that they will showcase a special exhibition called "Royal Court Feast" at the Korean Cultural Street in Terminal 1 of Incheon Airport, in collaboration with Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation (CEO Yu In-taek). The exhibition features various works by artist Kim So-san, who reinterprets traditional culture such as crowns, thrones, and royal court decorations. The exhibition is held free of charge at the exhibition space on the 4th floor of Terminal 1 until October 31st.

The opening ceremony of the "Royal Court Feast" special exhibition took place on the 8th at the Korean Cultural Street on the 4th floor of Terminal 1. The event was attended by Ryu Jin-hyung, the Operation Division Manager of Incheon International Airport Corporation, Song Chang-sik, the Regional Culture Division Manager of Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, officials from both organizations, and visitors. The successful opening of the special exhibition was celebrated by the attendees.

This exhibition, curated by artist Kim So-san, showcases various artworks based on the theme of "Royal Court Art," reinterpreting traditional images in a contemporary context. Notably, the exhibition adopts a "Spatial Public Art Exhibition" concept, where individual exhibits form a unified whole, creating a cohesive and immersive experience for visitors. In addition, benches reinterpreting traditional designs, called "15 Benches," are placed around the exhibition area, providing a space for visitors to rest and enjoy the artwork.

The "Royal Court Feast" special exhibition is part of a space art project aimed at revitalizing the Korean Cultural Street inside Terminal 1 of Incheon Airport, established in 2012, as a core cultural space of the airport. The exhibition space has been transformed to create a relaxing area where passengers can appreciate and rest while experiencing art. In the future, the airport plans to organize various cultural and artistic exhibitions following the success of this project.

Ryu Jin-hyung, the Operation Division Manager of Incheon International Airport Corporation, expressed his expectation that through traditional cultural exhibitions held at Incheon Airport, the beauty of Korean culture will be introduced to the world. He stated, "With the recovery of air travel demand, we plan to expand the range of cultural and artistic content to provide unique airport services that differentiate Incheon Airport, as more passengers choose to use our airport."

Artist Profile: Kim So-san is an installation artist specialized in oriental painting. His works visually express imaginative interpretations based on patterns rooted in oriental painting, using various materials such as wood, stainless steel, aluminum, motors, LEDs, and acrylic panels.
